I Love Housework; My Timer Is My Friend

You know – the honest truth is I actually hate housework. But if there’s something I HAVE to do, like sit down and put receipts into Quicken, well you know, the dishwater’s cooling and I really need to get those dishes washed. And the floor needs swept and mopping, too. Oh, the dishes have drip dried, they need to be put away. Oh, and look there, the refrigerator needs to be cleaned. Any other time I’d be sitting at my computer, caressing the keyboard with my fingertips, staring dreamily at the screen, reading about successful PFers and how they’re getting out of debt.

So on Saturday, I made myself set my timer for 20 minutes, and I worked in the kitchen, then I worked on the computer. I kept at it for several hours and made a dent in both housework and figuring out our finances.

I will try to remember that my timer is my friend the next time I find myself loving housework so much. ;-)
