I never did find the record keeping book I was looking for over the weekend.
I went over to my clients’ house after work yesterday and was there for a couple hours which meant I got home after dark. Got to work when it was dark and got home after dark. Ack. Today will prove to be just as hectic as the CEO and I are working on a proposal that has to be in by the 11th and then I get to do grocery shopping for our client Christmas party on Friday. Only my boss needs to have the food tomorrow, so I get to shop after work today. Tomorrow, I’m scheduled to back over to my clients’ house.
She can’t find the record book for 2006 either. Although we did establish the book we’re looking for is BLUE, not BROWN. With that in mind, she’s going to take another look around.
If that isn’t peachy enough, neither of us can find our copies of the 941s for the year 2006. I am missing the entire envelope from that year. Thankfully they aren’t in a position to fire me. I’d fire me. We do have one other way to figure out the puzzle. I keep records in Peachtree (transferred from their BROWN book) which indicates that they did not make all their tax payments in 2006. But we already knew that. I think the IRS was just sending them paperwork to remind them of how much interest they are being charged for the payments not made that year.
Still, we’re going to compare the Peachtree records, and her checkbook register to make sure we agree with what the IRS is saying. Sigh. They told me today they are going to have to lay off one of their two employees, their youngest son, because business is so slow. I hope he will be able to do the work for the two of them, as it help them a lot financially if they could start paying the IRS off quicker than they have been. From what I could see, they are only able to make payments which amount to the interest being charged. Ack.
Too much to do, too little time. I really should get myself one of those jobs where I can blog while at work.

Oh Chicky, I hope you can get that figured out soon! Thankfully there are only two employees (well, actually three when you count the owner’s wages) so there isn’t too much to mess up.
