Review: Coleman 5.4V FlashCell Cordless Rechargeable Screwdriver

Coleman Cordless ScrewdriverI have always been handy around the house, ever since I was a little girl with no daddy. I remember one time when I was eight years old fixing a door knob. I don’t remember what was wrong with it, but I was able to fix it and I was very proud of myself.

One of the tools I find indispensable around the house is a cordless screwdriver. A few months ago I purchased the Coleman 5.4V FlashCell Cordless Rechargeable Screwdriver* and what I love most about this tool is that I don’t have to worry whether the battery is charged.  You might wonder why is that?

Because the battery charges fully in less than 90 seconds!

Since I don’t use the tool very often, the battery is always dead. No problem. I just slip it into the charger and wait for a few seconds and it’s ready to use.

Last weekend I used my cordless screwdriver to replace some drawer pulls that my mother-in-law bought for me on clearance from Home Depot.  This style here Brainerd P50011V-PBW-C7 3-Inch Ceramic Insert Spoon Foot Pull*:

She found a box of ten on clearance for $3.00!  Sadly, she bought the drawer pulls for me YEARS ago. Like, maybe three or four years! I’ve had that box of drawer pulls in the  linen drawer in my kitchen, waiting until I found the energy and opportunity to replace my annoying old drawer pulls which had pieces jutting out which often caught on my clothes.

The other nice thing about this cordless screwdriver is it contains ten bits:

Ten Bits for the Cordless Screwdriver

I have only ever known flat head and Phillips head screwdrivers, and never knew what those other bits were called. Well, I found out making this post. The ten bits that come with this cordless screwdriver are: 2 Standard bits (flat head), 2 Phillips bits, 3 Posi-driv bits and 3 Torx.

I also like how it is easy to screw in or out.  The knob has an arrow pointing in the direction that the screw will go – if you press the arrow that points in toward the tip, it is going to screw in. If you press the other arrow which points “out” it screws out.

I really like this cordless screwdriver and find it very handy around the house.   Mr. A has always preferred his drill over a cordless screwdriver so I don’t have to worry about him borrowing it, either. :-)
