Out of Debt Again was eight months old in April 2008. Join me as we walk down memory lane and see what OODA was up to two years ago this month.
On the first I wrote a post called When Being Poor Warps Your Thinking. If you could spend $50 or 19 hours of your time volunteering, which would you rather do? On the 3rd, I wrote how Phone Quotes are Becoming Less of an Option. It used to be you could call around and get a ball park figure to find out how much something was going to run you. Not so easy nowadays, and my business went to the guys who COULD give me an estimate.
On the 4th I berated myself, calling myself a Loser with a Capital L when I managed to make a late payment on my first ever balance transfer but thankfully a few days later I was able to report that company had mercy on me in Citicards Update.
On the 7th, I patted myself on the back with Nice Save, a story of how I just happened to check one of my unused credit cards online (which I rarely check) to discover a payment was due from a yearly charge which went on the card. On the 13th I reported that our income taxes were completed – we used a professional that year.
On the 18th I had to find the best deal for buying checks for my boss, and took good notes while I worked and later wrote Order Your Checks By Mail.
This month I finally worked up my nerve and submitted one of my posts to the Festival of Frugality. I wish I’d had access to a tutorial like mine here, as I had no idea what I was doing when I started entering carnivals.
In April 2008 I had three parts to a Grocery Shopping Series: Cheaper Ground Beef, Generic vs. Name Brand and Is The Value Pack the Best Buy?
This month I became a member of BlogHerAds, wrote Yet One More Update on the Balance Transfer Saga and shared the Pitfalls of Starting a New Business.
I hope you enjoyed our little walk down Memory Lane!
Yours Truly,
Hey, really cool to see a retrospective… My blog will be 3 very soon and I have never done anything to mark any milestone…. I should do something like this.
