The simple answer is no. The lettuce must be mature in order to go to seed or to bolt. :-) As long as I keep the babies watered, they should be okay. I anticipate they will have leaves 6" to 8" long within a month, and it will begin to cool down by then. You can only get this seed mix at Pinetree's website or I guess you could call it in. 500 seeds per packet at $1.10. It's better to order all your seeds at once, since shipping is $3.50 for $0 to $19.99. Let's see... even if a person paid for the one packet, $3.50 shipping, that's $4.60 for 500 seeds. If we anticipate planting only half those seeds, that's 250 heads of leaf lettuce for $4.60. Not even two cents per head!
