My youngest son and I had a great time at church camp and are looking forward to attending next year.
Before we left for camp, we realized since we never go anywhere we didn't have much in the way of suitcases. I'd picked up a couple at a thrift store a month or two ago, but the handle broke on one, and the other was too small. So I decided to stop by Savers and see if they had anything. I was very happy to find three suitcases. Two were matching and one fit into the other. They both have wheels on the bottom and were in great condition. The larger one cost $7.99 and the inner one cost $6.99. Then I found another one, which will nicely nest inside the $6.99 one, for $4.99.
As I mentioned in an earlier post, I bought theĀ 22″ Glowsticks Glow Stick Necklaces Mixed Colors (50 necklaces) to hand out to the children. Sorry for the blurry photo, but I took it using night shot and hadn't thought to bring the tripod, but if you look closely you can see the necklaces glowing around several of the children's necks. I bought 15 packages and ended up with 28 sets of necklaces and bracelets, (some of the pieces were duds) which was almost exactly the right amount that we needed. We had a huge bonfire and we also had the foresight to bring giant marshmallows for s'mores. Both contributions were a huge hit and several parents thanked me for bringing the glow-in-the-dark necklaces because if any children began to wander off into the forest they could easily see them.
I missed several days of posting this past week because I've been pretty wiped out from the trip. I tried to take naps and get to sleep early, but it was too tempting to visit with like minded believers, especially when they kept congregating right outside our door!
I'm hoping to get our finances in order today – I've been so out of it that I even forgot to make the mortgage payment! Mr. A is taking it with him to drop at a post office so it will be on its way.
