Estimating What We Will Owe The IRS

Mr. Accountability and I have been married for almost one month. Finally life has begun to settle down and I’m sick with a head cold due to all the stress from the past few weeks.

I finally took some time today to look at the 1040 Tax Calculator and it looks like Mr. A and I may have to pay $5600 in income taxes. Thank goodness Mr. A has been taking the higher amount for deductions as he will be paying over $1700 in, while I will have paid somewhere around $1000. My preliminary figuring indicates we may owe $2900. OUCH. This actually makes me feel physically ill to think about having to pay this much in less than six months.

We will save $300 by filing married jointly.
